Well-being, mental health and PSHE
Reach Academy is committed to supporting our pupil's mental health. We believe that pupils with good mental health will flourish academically and go on to live lives of choice and opportunity. We offer a range of support for pupils, including a high quality PSHE programme and access to bespoke small group support where needed.
Our partnership with Place2Be is a key part of the support we offer our pupils and the wider community. We have a four day a week model which means that at any time 36 of our pupils are getting weekly counselling from a qualified professional. Pupils are also able to access Place2Talk, a drop-in service and our School Project Manager works with staff to support them to support our pupils.
For Children's Mental health week in 2018, the Duchess of Cambridge made a short film featured pupils, parents and staff at the school:
We are proud of our PSHE programme which is designed to support pupils with all aspects of their personal development. Last year we made a short film at the end of one of our PSHE drop down days about domestic violence.
